Principal Director
Mark Swan brings over 25 years of global experience in commodity trading, value chain optimization, and strategic project leadership. He has lived and worked across Europe, Asia, and North America, he offers deep expertise across coal, iron ore, base metals, fertilizers, alloys, and oil & gas.
During his two-decades at BHP, Mark held senior leadership roles including Head of Marketing and Sales for Kabanga Nickel, Potash, and Metallurgical Coal. He has played a pivotal role in various strategic projects, including leading BHP’s Commercial restructuring in 2015 and Marketing and Sales Transformation in 2018. He has worked on transactions exceeding US$20 billion in value, including the approval of Jansen Potash, BHP’s largest-ever greenfield investment, and overseeing the divestment of various oil and gas and coal assets in the United States, Australia, and Colombia.
As Director of Bunker Hill Ventures, and its joint venture Black Crow Resources, Mark now partners with small and medium-sized enterprises to unlock value through operational improvements, market optimization, and strategic capital deployment.
Mark holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Aston University and has completed executive programs at INSEAD and Henley Business School.
